Scam Alert: Recorded Deed Notice
The St Landry Parish Clerk Of Court Office wishes to make the public aware of a
Recorded Deed Notice Scam being sent out to the public. It comes in the form of a
letter that suggests property owners obtain a copy of their Property Assessment Profile.
The letter goes on to say for a charge of $128.00 you will receive a “Property
Assessment Profile” and a Copy of the Act of Sale for the property. Do NOT send them
any money! An Assessment of your property can be retrieved for free at the St Landry
Parish Assessor’s Office. And a copy of your Act of Sale with your property description
and sale price only costs 1.00 per page at the Clerk’s Office. If you have any questions
