Although a large number of St. Landry Parish public schools showed improvement, the latest overall state performance scores for the District showed a decline by less than one percentage point, according to a District news release issued Thursday.
St. Landry graded in the 72.1 percent tile, which is down from the 72.9 score the District recorded in 2024, the press release said.
The state performance score average for all school districts has fluctuated between 80 and 78.1 percentiles over the past two years.
“We acknowledge there is still work to be done to ensure every single student in the St. Landry Parish School District reaches their full potential,” said Superintendent Milton Batiste III.
Batiste added that the District plans to use the 2025 scores to develop strategies for improvement.
“Performance scores give us a view of our strengths and areas where we must intensify our efforts,” Batiste noted.
