Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “On February 17, 2025, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office
Narcotics Detectives together with Lafayette Police Department Narcotics Detectives and St.
Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team conducted a narcotics operation at 1193 LA Hwy
749 near Opelousas, LA. A search warrant was executed whereupon Anthony Minor and Curtis
Fields were taken into custody.” Sheriff Guidroz explained, “Fields and Minor concealed

themselves in a closet and were in possession of an illegally modified Glock 9mm pistol
equipped with a “Glock Switch” rendering it capable of fully automatic fire. There was a high-
capacity drum magazine, a high-capacity extended magazine and a standard magazine, all
completely loaded with ammunition.” Sheriff Guidroz went on to say, “The search of the
residence uncovered 1,081 grams of marijuana with a street value of over $ 21,000.00.”
Sheriff Guidroz stated, “The combination of the illegal drugs and the serious firepower of an
illegal machine gun makes this offense even more reprehensible. We will continue to use every
legal method and resource at our disposal to combat this social scourge.”
