St. Landry Parish Superintendent Patrick Jenkins is scheduled to undergo an annual job performance evaluation when School Board members convene next Thursday night for their monthly meeting.
Jenkins, who was hired as superintendent in 2016, is required according to the terms of his contract, to undergo yearly evaluations which are conducted away from the public in closed sessions.
During the closed sessions, board members and Jenkins have normally engaged in dialogue regarding his performance during the past year before the evaluation scores are tabulated.
Four current board members — Donnie Perron, Myron Guillory, Josh Boudreaux and board president Albert Hayes, Jr. – were voted out of office Nov. 6 and will be making their final evaluation for Jenkins.
Jenkins’ current contract extension with the District is scheduled to expire June 30 after new board members from Districts 6, 7, 11 and 12 are scheduled to sworn-in during the first regular January meeting.
Board members received last month evaluation sheets which rank the levels of Jenkins’ annual performance. During past evaluations board members assign numerical scores each item on the evaluations.
The 13 scores — one from each board member – are then added and then averaged to provide an overall final evaluation score.
Jenkins has scored at least proficient during all of his evaluations performed by board members.
