Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “On July 31, 2025, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office
Narcotics Division initiated an undercover narcotics operation in Grand Coteau, LA. Narcotics
detectives were able to identify Leon Boutte as a heroin dealer and arranged to purchase one
ounce of heroin for $1,200.00. Discrete surveillance allowed narcotics detectives to identify
Boutte and a driver arriving at the agreed-upon location. Officers descended upon Boutte and
the driver, identified as Jeremiah Robertson and detained them without incident. Boutte was
found with one ounce of heroin and a concealed Taurus 9mm pistol in his waistband. A search
of the vehicle uncovered one digital scale.” Sheriff Guidroz concludes, “A recent narcotics
operation revealed how dangerous these operations can be. Our Narcotics Division is to be
commended for their persistence in luring in these dealers and getting the violators with the
drugs off our streets.”
