The Copa Acadiana 2022 Presented by Courtesy Automotive Group is this weekend in Lafayette at Moore Park. It is the 15th annual edition and is the largest high school tournament in the state of Louisiana for any sport. The tournament has been hosted by Beau Chene High School and Copa Acadiana Soccer Club since 2008. The tournament has grown from 16 teams in year one… to 72 teams in 2019. Last year, boys and girls tournaments were split into 2 different tournaments.
For the boys tournament this weekend:
58 of the top boys varsity teams from all over the state will come to Lafayette, LA on Dec 1-3, 2022 including 3 of the 4 defending boys champions and a who’s who list of boys soccer powerhouses across Louisiana. Also joining the field will be Florida high school power, Miami Beach High School.
Next weekend (Dec 8-10), Beau Chene will host Copa Acadiana 2022 girls tournament which will have 24 varsity girls teams and 6 JV girls teams. The total of 88 teams in Copa this year is a new record for most teams in a high school soccer tournament in Louisiana.
