While the North Central boys’ and girls’ basketball teams appear to have won separate District 5-1A championships, several other St. Landry Parish schools remain in contention for league titles.
North Central, Beau Chene and Northwest High are undefeated among the St. Landry Parish boys teams in league play, while Opelousas Catholic is 4-1. The Vikings will probably finish the season as the 5-1A runner-up behind North Central (4-0 in district games).
Among the elite girls’ team parish wide, North Central has already clinched a league championship, while Northwest is 6-1 in District 5-3A with games against Church Point and Mamou remaining.
Here are the Friday night boys’ and girls’ scores from around St. Landry Parish.
GIRLS GAMES
Livonia 44, Beau Chene 42 (Beau Chene has lost four straight district games. BCHS is 2-4 in District 6-4A).
Midland 70, J.S. Clark 20 (Clark is now 0-5 in District 7-B).
North Central 37, Sacred Heart 31 (North Central completed 5-1A undefeated)
Northwest 59, Pine Prairie 46 (Northwest is 6-1 in 5-3A with games left against Church Point and Mamou).
Westminster Christian 39, Opelousas Catholic 33 (OCS is 0-5 in 5-1A. Westminster is 2-3 in 5-1A)
Welsh 43, Port Barre 30 (Port Barre is 0-5 in 6-2A).

Beau Chene 72, Livonia 54. (Beau Chene is still undefeated in 6-4A after five games.)
Midland 74, J.S. Clark 71 (Clark is 4-4 in 7-B).
