Four St. Landry Parish football teams have qualified for the 2022 state playoffs after the annual postseason pairings were released on Sunday by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association.
Opelousas Catholic, Opelousas High, Eunice High and Northwest High are the four parish teams that will play for state championships in games beginning this week.
Church Point (9-1), an Acadia Parish program, is part of the St. Now Landry sports coverage area. The Bears host No.26 Rayne in the first round.
Opelousas High (9-1) which captured the District 5-A championship outright has a first round bye after the Tigers were seeded No. 3 in Division II. Opelousas was seeded No. 1 and No. 2 at various times during the regular season.
Opelousas Catholic (7-3) also won an outright championship and will host District 6-1A opponent St. Edmund (5-5) in a rematch of a Week 10 game the Vikings won 60-21. OCS is the No. 15 team in Division V. St. Edmund is No. 18.
Eunice High (6-4), seeded No. 18 in Division II after the Bobcats won the District 3-4A title. Eunice travels in the first round to play No. 15 Erath. Eunice won four of the last five regular season games.
Northwest (6-4) is seeded No. 21 in Division II and will travel to play No. 12 Iota, which won the District 5-3A title. Iota and Northwest are district opponents. Northwest lost to Iota during the regular season 38-6. The Raiders established their playoff berth after winning the final three games of the regular season. Iota is the District 5-3A after defeating Church Point in Week 10.

St. Edmund (5-5) #18 at Opelousas Catholic #15 (Winner plays at #2 Central Catholic-Morgan City).
Northwest (6-4) #21 at Iota #12 (Winner plays either #5 Carroll or #28 Breaux Bridge).
Eunice High (7-3) #18 at Erath #15 (Winner plays at #2 West Feliciana).
Opelousas High (9-1) #3 –first round bye (Opelousas plays the winner of No. 14 Lakeshore or #19 Albany).
