See this note from Michael Wynne with CENLA Author’s Club:
Dearest Book-Loving Friends,
This coming week is very important to all peoples of central Louisiana. Two nationally-known and important figures, each a true master in their fields, are gracing us with their knowledge and one with his presence. Both are speaking exclusively to central Louisiana folks:
– On this coming Tuesday night, May 16th at 6 p m at the Pineville City Council Chambers (in the back of Pineville City Hall on Main Street), C. ERROL BARRON JR. is speaking on his life in architecture, about his late father Sr., also a renown architect who, among other historic Alex/Pineville buildings, designed “old” Pineville City Hall, and many other interesting facets to central Louisiana history. This is of interest to all of us, not just Pineville citizens or to architects of historians.
– On Thursday night, May 18th, (by zoom) in Room 145 at Mulder Hall at LSUA, renown master of the written word, Pulitzer prize winner, ROBERT OLEN BUTLER, is giving a Master Class in writing that everyone will truly love and enjoy, regardless of your level of writing skills or your interest in literature.
Both speakers are individually sponsored by one or more of these organizations: the Rapides Parish Library, the Historical Association of Central Louisiana, LSUA and the Cenla Author’s Club. Entry to these meetings is totally without cost or obligation and everyone is encouraged to support our efforts to bring these speakers like these men by attending their presentations.
Please feel free to call me (Michael Wynne, 487-8805) for details. Mr. Barron will be on “Good Day Cenla” at 11 a m on Tuesday on KALB and myself (Wynne) will be on GDC on Wednesday morning promoting Mr. Butler.
Also note please VERBATIM is on this Monday night. (see below attachment)
PLEASE support our programs by the presence of many attendees to encourage us to continue to bring the greatest people in America to our neck of the woods!
