fundraising event of its kind in Evangeline Parish, and it is as important a community awareness event as
it is a fundraiser because of our efforts to expand services to the communities in the rural areas.” Many

programs and services of United Way are already found in Evangeline Parish, but there has been a year-
long effort to bring that awareness to the people living in those communities. Brian Ardoin, President of

the Board of Directors for St. Landry-Evangeline United Way stated, “Our team has been building out our
board with more members representing Evangeline Parish, and with that effort, we have increased our
footprint as a relevant and reliable resource throughout the parish, aligning with the wonderful efforts in
St. Landry Parish. Hosting our first fundraiser in Mamou is intentional and we hope to continue these
efforts at locations throughout the parish in years to come.”

One of the organizers for this event is Suzy Lemoine, another member representing Evangeline Parish,
and Vice-President of the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way board. She’s excited about the great food
