Opelousas, LA – The St. Landry Parish School Board is proud to announce notable improvements in school
performance scores across the district, highlighting our commitment to fostering excellence in education.
Key Achievements:
● Seven Schools Rise in Letter Grades: We are elated to report that seven schools within the district have
improved their letter grades, showcasing the dedication and hard work of both students and educators.

○ Grand Coteau Elementary
○ North Central High School
○ Port Barre Elementary School
● Top Gains Recognition for Eleven Schools: Eleven schools have earned a Progress Index of an “A”
with no assigned label, designating them as Top Gains Schools. The Progress-Index is calculated by
assessing the improvement of schools based on student performance over two years.
