Opelousas General Health System Announces Appointment of Blake Schultz, Chief Operating Officer
Opelousas, LA, 11/25/2024 – Lance Armentor, President & CEO of Opelousas General Health System, has announced the promotion of Blake Schultz to Chief Operating Officer. The interim role is effective November, 2024.

Schultz joined OGHS in January 2020. Since that time, he served OGHS as Vice President of Support Services, and Vice President of Performance Excellence. In these roles, he was responsible for ancillary services, performance excellence, as well as strategic planning for the health system. He led teams through yearly budgeting, development of operational excellence strategy, and established a performance improvement (PI) program. Additionally, he established a new patient satisfaction program and developed department financial analysis for outpatient and ancillary teams. Schultz coached and mentored leaders in process and performance optimization. In two years, he led and completed over 130 PI projects which positively impacted overall operations at OGHS.
In his new role, Schultz will oversee all operations of the health system. A native of Mobile, AL, Schultz earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering and Master of Business Administration degree from University of South Alabama. Schultz is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, a Certified Agile Practitioner, which designates his knowledge of essential agile techniques and principles, and is Pragmatic Marketing Certified.
