Det. Mike Hidalgo of the Opelousas Police Department returns to
Crime Stoppers and needs your help in solving a homicide in the city
of Opelousas.
On November 3, 2020, between the hours of 11:00 pm and Midnight,
residents at 802 Beverly Rd., Crestview Apartments, reported hearing
a single gunshot. The responding Officers checked the area, but did
not locate anyone.
Later at approximately 3:20 am, a second call indicated that someone
was laying on the floor, not breathing, in Apartment 31 of Building E.
Upon arrival, the Officers located Michael Andrus Jr, a nineteen year
old Black, Male, laying in the door way of Apartment 31, in Building E.
Andrus was found to be deceased, from a single gunshot wound.
