Broadcaster, Meteorologist Ed Roy Dies

Former television meteorologist, private investigator and businessman Ed Roy, 74, died on Monday night according to his son, Courtney Roy.
The announcement of Roy’s death was made by his son, Courtney Roy, in a brief social media post.
Roy graduated from the Academy of The Immaculate Conception in Opelousas in 1967..
During his lifetime, Roy, who was currently living in Lafayette, held a number of positions as an aviator, flying instructor, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Deputy, private investigator and meteorologist who worked and appeared on air at KATC in Lafayette.
Roy was also a well-known humorist who participated in and hosted many Cajun Joke Telling contests that were held throughout Acadiana.
In July Roy hosted a birthday celebration on family-owned property in the Prairie Basse area and several months later hosted a high school reunion celebration at the same location.
Funeral arrangements for Roy are pending.
