RECOGNITION
Celebrating the History, Heritage, and Meaning of
the American Flag
The St. Landry Parish Veterans Memorial Committee
cordially invites veterans, families, students, and community members to join us for a special
National Flag Day Recognition as we honor one of our nation’s most cherished symbols—the
American Flag.
Come discover the rich history of the Stars and Stripes, from its origins to its role as a symbol of
freedom, sacrifice, and unity for generations of Americans. Throughout the day, visitors will
have the opportunity to participate in educational and interactive activities designed to increase
appreciation and understanding of our national flag.
Activities Include:
- A presentation on the history and evolution of the American Flag
- Flag facts and trivia
- Information on proper flag etiquette and display
- Educational exhibits and displays
- Family-friendly activities and patriotic fun
- Opportunities to learn about the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the United States
As a special keepsake, each visitor will receive a commemorative handheld 250th Anniversary
American Flag while supplies last.
