On a warm August Saturday the Atchafalaya River carried a community standing with Brent Aymond, a man fighting prostate cancer and reminding him he is not alone. The 11th annual “Rockin On The River” drew people from everywhere to White Tails Sports Bar and Grill from Port Barre to points beyond to celebrate the man while they fight for him.
Big Al the legendary voice of KBON radio filled the airl. with warmth only he can bring. Beside him auctioneer Aaron Neely kept the bids climbing. And there in a photograph that says everything, Brent Aymond, cap on his head, with his wife Ellie Aymond surrounded by friends and supporter sealed in generosity carried the current of the river that has always known how to move people forward.
