The heat didn’t stop the community from coming out to pick up practical baseball skills and drills at South City Park today.

Opelousas Catholic head coach Justin Boyd, accompanied by the entire baseball team gave their time today to teach young baseball-enthusiasts the techniques and secrets of baseball. The event was open to all baseball players between the ages of 7 to 12 years, regardless of skill-level. Coach Boyd and his team players dedicated their Friday morning spending one-on-one time with those who attended.

For those who participated the event provided a great opportunity in bunting, pitching, and batting posture exercises just to name a few. Coach Boyd went over the fundamentals of the game and delivered a strong message on the importance of teamwork.

The event was provided free for all attendees sponsored by Opelousas Parks and Recreation and Opelousas General Health System.
