World Class Harmonica Instruction for Players of All Levels of Skill and Experience; Beginning to Advanced.
SUNSET, LA – Love of People Nonprofit is happy to help promote an upcoming World Class Harmonica Summit, happening October 20th-October 23rd in Sunset, LA. The summit offers in-depth harmonica instruction in Cajun Music and Acoustic Blues. The harmonica instructors each have well over 30 years experience as performers and teachers in these genres.
“All students, harmonica and otherwise, will see improvement in their blues playing,” says Harmonica Teacher Grant Dermody, “If you’re a harmonica player, or used to be, or want to be, you’ll walk away playing better and knowing more. You’ll also leave with ideas and suggestions for keeping it going.”
The summit will offer seminars from local master musicians. They will share their approaches to, and the influences on their blues playing. For those who can’t attend the seminars, each night of the summit will include live music and dancing with one of the many great bands from the Lafayette area.
On Sunday afternoon, the instructors move to Cité des Arts in Downtown Lafayette where free harmonica instruction will be offered to kids ages 8-17. Says Dermody, “I’m looking forward to the whole experience. It’s brand new so who knows what magic will unfold!”
