Mark your calendar for what is being called a “one of a kind meeting” at the Cenla Author’s Club in Alexandria this coming Thursday, March 23, 2023.

Here is a note we received from Michael Wynne about this meeting:
Dear Friends,
We have a truly fascinating speaker this coming Thursday night- with possibly the most interesting talk of the year! ROBERT “BOB” GENTRY is a renown newspaper publisher/editor, radio commentator and author (of 12 books so far). That alone would make him an interesting speaker. But he is now the LAST living associate and friend of Governor Earl K. Long (he served as his personal driver also). Bob was also Governor Jimmie Davis’ (most famous for the song “You Are My Sunshine”) closest still-living friend. Boy, does Bob have some stories to tell! And you will only hear them in one place and one time ever:

This Thursday night, May 23rd, at 6 p. m. at Westside Regional Library branch on Provine Place in Alexandria.

Seating is “first come, first served.” And if that isn’t enough, we will have PLENTY OF DOOR PRIZES, likely enough for everyone who registers for a door prize that night!

EVERYONE IS WELCOME; there is never any membership fees or costs. We would love to see you there Thursday night.
