If you are looking for a fun activity on Saturday, September 17, check out the Family Fun Day, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Opelousas. It is being held in South City Park, with events starting at 8AM and continuing until 5PM.

Although the event is organized by the Kiwanis Club, many other community citizens and parish service organizations will be participating including the Rotary Club, Judge Shaunn Callier Harden, MedExpress, and others.

The fun day will center around the 2nd annual Kiwanis Softball Tournament with seven local teams participating. Registration for the tournament is $250.00 per team, with a deadline of September 12th to register.  There will be trophies and T-Shirts awarded. To enter a team in the softball tournament, contact Jody White at 337-945-8298

Another event planned is Beach Volleyball. Sign up for that event is required. If you are interested in participating, or need more information on Beach Volleyball, contact Ashley Burleigh at 337-297-6566 or Shaunn Caillier-Harden at 337-418-6647.

Bingo, table games, and many activities for both kids and adults, will also be part of the fun for the entire day.

Admission to attend Family Fun Day is free, with some free games and activities. A cash concession stand will be available throughout the day.

Come out to South City Park next Saturday to support the Kiwanis Club of Opelousas and their work to help the children of the community. Proceeds benefit Kiwanis Kids Academic Improvement Program and Scholarships.
