Arrest Warrant Issued for Gregory Maynard in Connection with June 23rd Shooting
Opelousas, LA – The Opelousas Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Gregory
Maynard in connection with the shooting that occurred on June 23, 2024. Detective Thomas has
secured the warrant for Mr. Maynard on charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder, Illegal
Use of Dangerous Weapons or Instrumentalities, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person
Convicted of Domestic Abuse Battery.
The incident, which took place on June 23, resulted in serious injuries and has since been the
subject of an intensive investigation. Based on the evidence collected, authorities believe that
Mr. Maynard is responsible for the crime.
Opelousas Police are urging Gregory Maynard to turn himself in immediately. The Opelousas
Police Department is seeking assistance from the public. Anyone with information regarding this
crime or any other crime is urged to contact the Opelousas Police Department at 337-948-2500.

receive a cash reward of up to $2500.00 for information leading to the identification and
apprehension of those responsible.
