Celebrating Halloween
A Halloween aura was introduced in the Opelousas downtown area on Wednesday night, as groups of witches appeared and were spotted moving down sidewalks and dashing past historic buildings which might hold treasures of historic stories and paranormal secrets inside.
The annual Witches Crawl event celebrated the approach of local Halloween events that are expected to extend into this weekend with festivals and outdoor activities.
Daylight Savings Time also disappears at midnight Saturday and the cooler fall weather which greeted the appearance of the Opelousas witches, is prepared to settle in for at least the next few days.
The city and parish held their annual children’s Trick-Or-Treat events on Thursday night, but the available Halloween-related experiences might not be done.
There are more related events that perhaps include a witch or two and a cold brew scheduled in municipalities and parishwide during the weekend, including those in Opelousas.
