Another monument on the grounds of the St. Landry Parish Courthouse that goes mostly unnoticed on a daily basis sits on the south side of the courthouse square surrounded by a row of massive oak trees. The monument was erected in 1920 by the citizens of St. Landry Parish. It honors the parish residents that fought in the Great War, known today at World War I.
