Billy’s Lawn Service Theft
Today, Joe Anderson, Public Information Officer with the Opelousas
Police Department, comes to Crime Stoppers and asks your help in
solving a theft at Billy’s Lawn Service.
On June 30, 2026, Investigators learned that a Stihl MS 881 chainsaw,
valued at $ 2,679.99 was stolen from Billy’s Lawn Service located at
5281 South Service Road in Opelousas.
Surveillance video shows two male subjects inside the store. While
one distracts employees, the second subject removes the chainsaw
from the display, carried it to a four-door Volvo parked outside and
immediately left. The investigation indicates a person of interest,
who lives in the Lafayette area and frequents the homeless shelter
and the post office on Moss Street, may be involved. We are asking
the public’s assistance in identifying this individual.
