Special Election for City of Opelousas
Opelousas, Louisiana – Early Voting for the August 16, 2025 Special Election will be held from August 2 – August 9, with the exception of Sundays, from 8:30 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. Early Voting will take place at the courthouse in Opelousas ONLY! No Early Voting will be held in Eunice!

A sales tax renewal is the ONLY item on the ballot, and it is just for the residents within the city limits of Opelousas.
The deadline for anyone to register or make changes in-person and by mail is July 16, 2025 and July 26, 2025 is the deadline for any electronic registrations and/or changes. The deadline to request an absentee–by-mail ballot is August 12, 2025 (other than Military and Overseas).
