Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz stated, “This arrest begins with our Narcotics Investigators conducting criminal patrol
in the area of South Street in Opelousas. The Investigators observed a blue Hyundai Sonata with illegally tinted
windows and an expired Motor Vehicle Inspection (MVI). A traffic stop was initiated at the 600 block of
Railroad Avenue for the traffic violations. Upon coming in contact with the driver and keen observations of
narcotics in plain view, Cody Arclese was detained.” Sheriff Guidroz continues, “Upon searching the vehicle,
officers located the following:
Approximately one (1) pound of marijuana with an estimated street value of $ 9,000.00
One (1) Glock Model 22, .40 caliber pistol.
Based on these findings, Arclese was arrested and charged with the previously listed charges.” Sheriff Guidroz
advises, “While we receive countless tips of criminal activity and respond to each one, we will not sit back and
wait to be notified of these egregious acts. We will actively pursue and engage each and every violator to
combat the movement and sale of narcotics in St. Landry Parish.”
