Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “Today, with the assistance of the SLPSO Criminal
Investigations Division and the SLPSO SWAT Operators, the Narcotics Detectives conducted a
narcotics investigation at the location of 414 Church Street in Opelousas, Louisiana. Narcotics
Detectives were able to develop enough information to obtain a search warrant at the target

which mirrors the effects of Oxycodone. This is a drug relatively new to this area, but our

Narcotics Detectives have made themselves familiar with it and are wasting no time to track,
seize and arrest anyone attempting to distribute in our parish.” Sheriff Guidroz continues,
“While executing the search warrant, detectives located 750 tablets of Tapentadol. It was also
learned that the Tapentadol was ordered by Christopher Mallet, who eventually met our
detectives at the Sheriff’s Office Complex. At the conclusion of the investigation, Christopher
Mallet was charged with the possession with intent to distribute the Tapentadol.”
