Dewaskie Fuller Named Head Coach of Girls Basketball at JS

announce the hiring of Dewaskie Fuller as the new Head Coach of the Girls Basketball Team. Coach
Fuller brings with him a championship pedigree, a passion for mentoring student-athletes, and a proven
ability to lead programs to new heights.
Coach Dewaskie Fuller’s arrival signals a new era for JS Clark Leadership Academy Girls
Basketball—one focused on championship standards, player development, and personal growth.
In just six years, Coach Fuller has built an illustrious career, establishing himself as one of Louisiana’s
most respected girls’ basketball coaches. Under his leadership, a program that once struggled with a
1-21 record transformed at Lakeview High School into a State Championship powerhouse, consistently
producing high-performing, disciplined, and resilient teams. His remarkable achievements include one
State Championship, one State Runner-Up finish, six playoff appearances, three Top 28 State
Tournament appearances, five Top 10 rankings, and five Top 5 rankings. Coach Fuller has also guided
three players to college signees and mentored five District MVPs. His career regular season record
stands at an impressive 149-34 (.814), with a district record of 47-4 (.921), showcasing his elite
coaching prowess. Recognized by his peers, Coach Fuller has earned five District Coach of the Year
awards, two Area Coach of the Year honors, and the prestigious 2025 LHSAA Class 1A Coach of the
Year title.
JS Clark’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Tiffanie Lewis expressed, “We are excited to introduce Coach
Fuller to JS Clark as the new leader of our girls’ basketball team and a valuable addition to our
administrative staff. His proven success in transforming programs, fostering values, and winning a State
Championship ensures our student-athletes will thrive as players and leaders.”
Coach Fuller states,“Winning is great, but who these young women become matters most. My role is to
prepare them to excel on the court—and more importantly, in life. That’s what lasting success looks
like.” He believes in building complete student-athletes who are successful in every area of life. His
coaching philosophy centers around accountability, effort, leadership, and character. He aims to maintain
a winning culture built on hard work, mutual respect, and continuous growth.
Coach Fuller, a Northwestern State University graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree, remains deeply
rooted in DeSoto Parish. Actively involved in DeSoto Parish Fellowship, led by his father as pastor, he
dedicates himself to community service, inspiring and guiding local youth through mentorship and
meaningful outreach. Coach Fuller, along with his wife and son, will now reside in Churchpoint, LA,
where they also share family connections.
