 Little Named Class 1-A Outstanding Player

Opelousas Catholic  senior Ashley Little has crowned her successful high school career with a final individual milestone after she was named the Outstanding Player on the 2025 Class 1-A softball team chosen annually by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. 

Little, who has signed a softball scholarship with Nicholls State University, finished 2025 with a 20-5 record and a 1.89 earned run average. During the past season, Little also struck out over 250 batters in 158 innings pitched as the Vikings reached the Division IV-select state championship game for the second year in a row.

Holy Savior Menard defeated OCS 4-1 for the state title.

In the 2024 state championship game, Little was the winning pitcher as OCS took the D-IV select championship by beating Catholic High-Pointe Coupee 1-0.

Little was 37-9 during her final two years at OCS.

OCS infielder Madison Gussman was an honorable mention selection on the 2025 all-state team chosen by the sports writers association.
