SHOOTING INVESTIGATION – ARREST MADE ON TROsCLAIR STREET

The Opelousas Police Department responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of Trosclair Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that a male victim had been shot and was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle prior to officers’ arrival.

Investigators responded to the scene and determined that the victim had gone to a residence in the 1300 block of Trosclair Street to visit his daughter. During the visit, a heated argument occurred between the victim and the child’s stepfather.

Investigators learned that the suspect, identified as Christopher Robins, retrieved a pistol and fired multiple shots at the victim, striking him once. Detectives also learned that two additional individuals were inside the victim’s vehicle at the time of the incident, resulting in the vehicle being struck by gunfire.

Christopher Robins was taken into police custody and charged with:

3 Counts – Attempted Second Degree Murder

Illegal Use of Weapons & Dangerous Instrumentalities

Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
