located on Highway 182 South in Opelousas.
The commemoration will begin with open dialog about the:

- The Stars and Stripes and what they represent
- Who is responsible for the design of the Flag
- When was the current Flag was adopted
- The meaning of the Folds of the Flag
Army Veterans are asked to visit the Memorial in recognition of the oldest
Branch of Service – marking 250 years.
Small hand-held flags will be given to those in attendance. Veterans will receive a
veteran pin while supplies last. We are hoping that parents and other family
members will bring their school-aged children to learn more about the American
Flag in a non-school setting. We are also asking businesses, families and ALL to
display the United States Flag. The public is invited. Thank you for your support.
