NY Firm Acquires Dupre Logistics

Dupre Logistics, a 45-year-old transportation company started by Opelousas resident Reggie Dupre, has been acquired by Stonepeak, a New York-based investment firm which now has controlling interest in the company located in Lafayette.
The acquisition was announced on Thursday on the Dupre Logistics website as well as information contained in press releases provided to several nationwide transportation company publications.
Financial terms of the transaction were undisclosed and Dupre, formerly CEO of Dupre Logistics, will remain a board member for the company which operates about 750 trucks which operated mainly along the Gulf Coast, according to the trade magazine articles which used a Dupre Logistics press release for information.
Stonepeak, according to a company press release, specializes in infrastructure and real assets.
Earlier this year Stonepeak completed a $3.1 billion acquisition of the Air Transport Services Group. Stonepeak has $72 billion worth of assets capital associated with operational support and energy transportation, the press release said.
Over the years Dupre Logistics has expanded an operation into a privately held, asset-based provider of transportation and logistical services, said a Dupre Logistics press release.
The company, the press release added, provides and services energy and chemical transportation in addition to hazmat and petrochemical transportation.
