Opelousas General Health System and The Wound Treatment Center introduced a first-in-state technology just a few months ago using APLICOR 3D tissue regeneration system, distributed by Tides Medical, a Lafayette-based biotechnology company that specializes in wound care products.

APLICOR 3D uses AI, 3D printing technology and a patient’s own adipose (fat) tissue to print a personalized tissue graft. This novel approach emphasizes using a patient’s own biology to support wound progression, after standard of care has stalled. By integrating this technology at The Wound Treatment Center, wound care specialists have a new tool for combatting chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers.

For the nearly four million patients in the US with a chronic wound in need of advanced therapy, APLICOR 3D makes advanced bioengineering accessible within the wound care practice.
