Opelousas General Health System Foundation Hosts
Community Leaders’ Summit
Opelousas, LA, 12/16/24 – Opelousas General Health System Foundation announces the St. Landry Parish
Community Leaders’ Summit meeting with healthcare professionals and community leaders on February 6,
2025, at the Delta Grand Theatre in downtown Opelousas.
This summit aims to explore innovative approaches and strategies for improving the health and well-being of
our community.
“Collaboration is key to building healthier communities. Together with healthcare leaders, our local community
leaders, and Well-Ahead, an arm of the Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals, we will explore
opportunities and strategies to enhance the health of every individual we serve,” said Cindy Torian, OGHS
Foundation Director.
The summit will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and the agenda will cover several topics, including
opportunities for preventative care, improving patient care, rural health disparities, increasing awareness about
tobacco cessation, and the prevalence of lung cancer. The agenda will also include legislative updates.
Registration is free and includes breakfast. Community leaders, healthcare professionals, and anyone interested
