October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and Opelousas General Health System began their Paint the Town Pink Kick-off Friday, September 26th in the lobby of the OGHS Main Campus.

It was the first day of public t-shirt sales in the main lobby and also the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center at OGHS was there with their Go Mobile Unit (POGO) providing education about breast cancer and screenings. Second Harvest Food Bank of New Orleans was there selling low-cost produce. There was also free Community Coffee and fresh lemonade and iced tea provided by . Raising Canes #067. The Bearded Food Junkie truck was also there selling delicious cuisine. Students From Northwest High School volunteered their time to assist with the selling of the Paint The Town Pink T-Shirts and lemonade and coffee.

PTTP T-Shirts can. still be purchased on 9/29 and 9/30 at OGHS, The annual Pink Luncheon will be held on Friday, Oct 24, at Evangeline Downs followed by a VIP after party sponsored by OGH Imaging. Ford more information visit opelousasgeneral.com/pink.
