The 37th annual Veterans Day celebration wil be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, thanks to the efforts of Dorothy Thomas, Annie LaFontaine and Rose Minix. Rain or shine the Veterans Day Parade festivities get underway at noon with line up beginning at 9 a.m. with vehicles decorated and ready to roll. The parade rolls down Market Street beginning at North City Park and ending at the Opelousas City Hall. Following the parade a luncheon for veterans and spouse only will be held at Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church located at 515 East Bellevue Street. To close out the festivities a musical mix choir will be held at 4 p.m. at Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church on Sunday, Nov. 12. The community is invited to attend.
