It was a proud moment for Samantha Daniels and her family as she signed with Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette, Alabama with a full athletic scholarship.

Daniels celebrated the occasion with her Port Barre teammates, coaches and athletic trainers and Port Barre faculty on Wednesday, January 10.

Samantha is the daughter of Amanda Carte and Connor Daniels and a Senior at Port Barre Hight School.

An Early Start

Daniels’ commitment to the game began early on as she started with T-Ball in 2010. In 2015 she started select ball and in 2017 played for Prodigy Softball until 2019 under Coach Eric Mire. She presently plays for Bullet Softball under coaches Eric Mire, Paige Hulin, Mike Lafosse, and Ryan Monceaux and has played Varsity Softball for PBHS since 8th grade.

Her hard work, dedication and perseverance through the years has shown true through her many honorable accolades.

In 2021 she made 1st Team All Parish Pitcher and 1st Team All District Pitcher.

She was awarded 1st Team All Parish Utility, 1st Team All District 3rd Baseman, All-State Honorable Mention, and 1st Team All Metro Utility in 2022 and awarded for Sports Medicine Staff. Daniels also pitched every play-off game, including the State Championship game, which ended in State Runner Up 2A.

In 2023 Samantha Daniels was selected as 1st Team All-Parish Pitcher for the 2023 St. Landry Parish Softball Team. She also received All-State Honorable Mention.

Future Goals

In the fall of 2023, Daniels announced her commit to play for Coastal Alabama and looks forward to this next chapter as she starts in 2024 playing RHP/3rd Base.

“I am so blessed and thankful for this opportunity thanks to all the people who have helped me accomplish my goal I have worked for so long, especially my family, coaches, and friends. I am ready for the next chapter in my life as a COYOTE!” stated Samantha Daniels.

Daniels plans on continuing her education and softball career at Coastal Alabama Community College where she will be pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. Her goal is to become a physical therapist.
