Rotary Members Attend Festive Party

The spacious Opelousas home of Bruce and Bernadette Gaudin was transformed into the seasonally decorated host site for the annual Noon Rotary Club Christmas party Tuesday night, as club members enjoyed the charming atmosphere which included a catered supper, desserts and eventually a trivia game that contained a set of perplexing seasonal trivia questions which challenged the memories of most participants.

Club members initially gathered just after dark on the outside patio for an extended and festive social hour that included a wide variety of wines and other beverages before being summoned inside to prepare for a multiple-course dinner that included a green salad, fruit and generous helpings of fish and beef dishes alongside potatoes and fresh green beans prepared and served by local chefs.

The club members and their guests had hardly begun eating when they were told not to reserve their appetites, as several desserts awaited for sampling before engaging in the Christmas song trivia game in a comfortable living room setting that featured a silver, eight-foot lighted and decorated tree.

Former club president Rick Urban prepared the 10 questions used for after-supper trivia which was based on clues contained in traditional  Christmas music.

Teams of four who gathered in the living room to network with their answers, often struggled to write right down answers which often came with an unusual amount of difficulty.
