Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “On August 12, 2025, Narcotics Detectives with the St.
Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover operation and negotiated the purchase
of two pounds of marijuana for $ 2,500.00. Once the target was identified, he was convinced to
move to another location. Detectives in marked and unmarked units were able to initiate a stop
on Duffy Avenue in Grand Coteau.” Sheriff Guidroz continues, “Upon approach, the detectives
present detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The driver, Ronnie
Auguillard and a back seat passenger, Kanaan Broussard, were removed from the vehicle and
taken into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of:

Approximately two pounds of marijuana.
1 – Glock Model 19, 9mm pistol.
1 – Glock 10mm pistol.
$ 1,630.00 in U.S. Currency.
Sheriff Guidroz concludes, “Once again, we have bad
actors from out of St. Landry Parish attempting to bring
illegal narcotics in. In many cases, seemingly innocent
drugs may be laced with incredibly dangerous and
deadly substances, such as fentanyl and nitazene. Street
nitazenes can be up to 250 times as potent as heroin and
trace amounts can trigger an overdose. We must and
will continue to be vigilant in our pursuits against these
drugs and the people that sell them.”
