Detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office need your
help in solving numerous burglaries at a local Dollar General.
Between August 10 th and September 10 th of this year, there
have been five (5) burglaries of the Dollar General located at
8599 Hwy 182 just north of Opelousas.
The burglars are seen in surveillance video approaching the
store from the south. They then turn the power off to the
building, use pieces of concrete, blocks or asphalt to break the
front door glass and make entry. From the time frame on
video, these burglaries occur between 10 PM and midnight.
Numerous vehicles are seen passing while the burglaries are in
progress. Law enforcement asks that, should you see
something suspicious in this area, to please notify them
immediately.
