The pots were going at Willie’s Campground in Washington for their annual Squirrel Cook-Off!

Chris Himel and Junior Dugas entertained the crowds as they visited each of the participating vendors to see who has the best squirrel dish. There were 19 teams participating in the cook-off vying to be named the champion. A silent auction and live auction had lots of great handmade and donated items up for bid.

The squirrel cook-off is an annual fundraising event that has been held at Willie’s Campground along Bayou Courtableau for over 20 years. It’s the first time Willie’s Campground has resumed the event, however since it came under new ownership. Proceeds from the Squirrel Cook-off this year will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
