ST. LANDRY PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVES GRANT TO ASSIST IN COMBATING ILLEGAL ACTIVITY IN ST. LANDRY PARISH
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz has confirmed that his office has received a grant to deter and combat illegal activity in regard to firearms, controlled dangerous substances and gang activity in St. Landry Parish. This grant will allow deputies to target violent crimes and identify violent offenders in order to prosecute on a state or federal level.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, consisting of P.O.S.T. Certified enforcement personnel, will be working within the guidelines of the grant to conduct proactive patrols and surveillance details to gather evidence needed to obtain warrants for the arrest of any individuals engaged in illicit activity, including but not limited to the following: possession and/or trafficking in illegal firearms, narcotics or any other illegal controlled dangerous substances and illegal gang-related activities.
