Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “In the investigation of the last bomb threat at an area high school, our School
Resource Officers went back to 2023, when Garcia was a person of interest in a similar incident. It was learned
that Garcia is connected to five prior acts of terrorism at the same school, going back to January 16, 2026.
Sufficient probable cause was developed to obtain and execute an arrest warrant on Lyam Garcia.” Sheriff
Guidroz concludes, “These acts not only disrupt the school and the hundreds of students, but they also place
people at risk; students and staff, the first responders and other innocent persons. In today’s climate our nation
as a whole is at risk to terrorist acts, we will remain relentless in our pursuit of those who wish to endanger our
public.”
