The Switch Is On- Yet Again! Darla Montgomery comes out
of retirement to join News 15’s on-air ‘dream team’!
Lafayette, La., January 21, 2026 – News 15, Your Local News Authority, is excited to announce
the return to the airwaves of local broadcasting icon Darla Montgomery as she joins Acadiana’s most
experienced, trusted and honored news team for News 15 Midday With Darla. Acadiana’s new
preeminent lifestyle program will air weekdays at Noon on KADN FOX 15 and KLAF-NBC starting in March.
“It’s an honor to take on this role. I’m proud to join the professionals here at News 15 and help this
team continue their broadcasting excellence in Acadiana,” said Montgomery, who spent over three decades
telling the stories of Acadiana before retiring from the anchor desk at KLFY last year after differences over
news philosophy. “I look forward to once again doing what I love. Broadcasting has always been about
connection and community, and I am grateful for this exciting opportunity to work in this new role with the
News 15 family.”
“We couldn’t be more happy and excited to welcome the legendary Darla Montgomery to her new
home on News 15,” said Jim Parker, Vice President & General Manager for KADN & KLAF. “News 15
believes experience matters and Darla joining the team further cements News 15 as Your Local News
Authority.” Alongside News 15’s gold-standard evening anchors Marcelle Fontent and Jim Hummel, and
longtime viewer favorite Scott Brazda on Good Day Acadiana, with the addition of Darla Montgomery–
News 15 is now home to all of Acadiana’s top-tier anchor talent, amassing an on-air “dream team.”
Acadiana broadcast veterans Fontenot, Hummel and Brazda all joined News 15 in recent years
following changes in operations at KATC, now Montgomery is the latest to make the switch after changes
at KLFY.
“The quality of these highly-experienced professionals at News 15 is unmatched and unduplicated,”
added Parker. “The math is clear, 10 plus 3 simply doesn’t equal 15.”
News 15 is Acadiana’s most honored news operation, recognized for two years running as the
state’s Best Newscast by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters. The LAB also named News 15 as the
source of the state’s Best Investigative Reporting. On top of those accolades, an independent analysis this
past year from the highly-regarded research firm Magid & Associates found News 15 covers more news
and more local stories than the competition.
