If one was looking to enjoy an outdoor activity Saturday they had to look no further than Leonville for the annual Top of the Teche Canoe Races.The brand new boat launch and dock was the starting line for 16 entrants making the 7.7 mile trip down Bayou Teche to the town of Arnaudville ending at Mayron’s waterfront restaurant. boats entered included kayaks, canoes, pirogues, and SUP’s The race was a great great start of the paddling season, where fellow paddlers could meet and enjoy the beauty of St. Landry Parish and of course the beautiful Bayou Teche.
