On November 19, 2024, Narcotics Detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office were investigating
information of narcotics possession and trafficking. These Detectives observed Kenan Charles in the targeted
area of previous narcotics trafficking. Detectives, assisted by marked patrol units approached Charles, parked
in front of a residence. Charles sped away in the car at a high rate of speed and proceeded eastbound on US 190
in the westbound lane, head-on to opposing traffic. Safety concerns necessitated the ending of the pursuit,
though Charles continued at what was described as “a very high rate of speed” by witnesses. Detectives were
able to secure an arrest warrant for Charles on the listed charges. Law Enforcement is requesting the public’s
assistance in locating this perceived menace to society.
