Washington Street to Close Between Berthaud Street and Laurel
Drive for Water Main Repairs
Opelousas, LA, APRIL 1, 2026 — Opelousas, La., The City of Opelousas would like to
inform residents and motorists that Washington Street, between Berthaud Street and
Laurel Drive, will be closed in both directions beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 2,
2026, for repairs to a water main.
Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route and use caution when traveling near
the work area.
The City appreciates the public’s patience and understanding as crews work to complete
these necessary repairs as safely and quickly as possible.
