Scheduled Water Work Temporarily Delayed, No Service
Interruption Today
Opelousas, LA, APRIL 1, 2026 — Opelousas, La., The City of Opelousas would like to
inform residents in the area from Park Vista to Heather Drive that the previously
announced water service interruption scheduled for today will not take place.
Due to unexpected pre-work, the planned hydrant and valve repairs and upgrades have
been temporarily delayed and will resume at a later date.
We understand this change may be frustrating for residents and businesses in the
affected area. However, it is important that these repairs and improvements are
completed safely, thoroughly, and correctly.
The City of Opelousas will provide advance notice to all affected areas before the work
begins.
We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as we continue working to
improve the city’s water system.
