Theme: “Keep Moving Forward”
“What better way to die, than to give your life for your country.”
Inspired by Captain Joshua Byers, killed in action in Iraq in 2003.
His final words to his unit were, “Keep Moving Forward,” after his vehicle was struck by a
bomb.
Honoring Our Fallen
Wreaths Across America/St. Landry Parish began as a simple gesture of gratitude to honor the
families of the Fallen here at home and across our Nation.
Iraq / Afghanistan War:
- Army Staff Sgt. Craig Davis – January 8, 2004
- Army Staff Sgt. Jonathan R. Reed – January 28, 2005
- Marine Lance Cpl. Myles C. Sebastien – December 20, 2006
- Army Staff Sgt. Jarred S. Fontenot – October 18, 2007
- Army Sgt. Joseph A. Richard, III – April 14, 2008
Sponsored by the Walmart Distribution Transportation Department
- Fresh Balsam Veterans Wreaths will be presented to
Gold Star Mothers and their families in honor of their Fallen.
Wreaths will also be presented to the Parish Government President,
Parish Council Members, and Firefighters in memory of all who have fallen. - Small remembrance wreaths will be available for families honoring loved ones who
served and are no longer with us.
