I had the pleasure of talking with Andrew Guidroz earlier this week at the Breakfast with Santa event held at the Opelousas Civic Center. Andrew, along with Bobby Dupre, was one of the organizers of the event that was started 18 years ago.
I have been knowing Andrew for many years and we usually ended up at the same social events as he was an excellent photographer usually shooting for the local television station, KDCG. I always said he was Bobby Dupre’s sidekick as Bobby had a weekly television show highlighting St. Landry Parish and its citizens and Andrew was always at his side. It was an early morning show and was well received as it always promoted the good news about the parish.
I wish I would have had more time to talk with Andrew but he was busy with the breakfast. He is a busy man but he and Bobby always had time to promote Breakfast with Santa which is a fundraiser for the Opelousas Cerebral Palsy Clinic. You can follow Andrew on Facebook and by looking at his posts he seems to be enjoying country living in Prairie des Femme. I might also add that he must be an excellent chef if the photos he posts of his homemade meals are any indication.
